Insurance Cover In Place

The following insurances are maintained at all times. Full policy documents and current certificates are available on request for managed-property and commercial clients — just ask when booking and your account handler will email them over.

  • Public Liability Insurance: £2,000,000 minimum (written confirmation available for landlords and commercial clients)
  • Employers Liability Insurance: meets the statutory minimum required for HSE compliance
  • Goods in Transit / Cargo cover for items in transport, including customer property being removed
  • Comprehensive fleet insurance on every van and truck in the carrier fleet for third-party, fire, and theft
  • Professional Indemnity cover where applicable for advice given during quoting and handovers

What The Public Liability Policy Covers

The public liability policy covers damage to customer property, injury to third parties on site, and accidental damage caused by the crew during the normal course of a clearance. Typical examples we have seen covered are: an accidental scrape to a kitchen worktop when removing a range cooker, scuffing a Victorian bannister rail in a tight terraced stairwell, or knocking a garden wall tile when reversing a van in a narrow driveway.

The standard excess per claim is stated on the current policy certificate available on request. Claims are reported to the office the same day and acknowledged by the insurer within the policy timeframes.

Accreditations And Trade Memberships

Where applicable, the final live trading entity should maintain memberships with the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM), any relevant London borough approved-contractor lists, and any SafeContractor or CHAS schemes required by the managed-property landlords we work for. This page should be updated by the client with their final accreditations before going live.

Site-Specific Requirements

For commercial and managed-property accounts requiring site-specific paperwork (SSOW, RAMS, insurance certificates, waste management plans, fire-risk co-operation notices) we provide these before any work starts. There is no fee for standard paperwork; large multi-site or construction-sector jobs may need a pre-site visit to draft the documents correctly.

Evidence Requests

Insurance evidence and trade-body checks can take up to 48 hours to produce in a certified format — please request them when you first enquire so they are ready before the job date. No job starts without current valid insurance in place.
